Last updated: March 2026

Overview

FloatCode is a local desktop application. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. This policy explains what happens — and what doesn't — when you use FloatCode.

Data we do not collect

  • No account or registration is required
  • No analytics or tracking on the desktop app
  • No crash reports sent to our servers
  • No terminal input, output, or file content is transmitted to us
  • No usage data, telemetry, or behavioral data is collected

Local storage

FloatCode stores the following data locally on your machine only:

  • App settings and preferences (~/.floatcode/settings.json)
  • Command and prompt history (~/.floatcode/history.json)

This data never leaves your device.

Third-party services

FloatCode runs Claude Code CLI, which communicates with Anthropic's API. Any data sent to Anthropic is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy. FloatCode has no control over that communication.

Website

The FloatCode website (floatcode.app) is hosted on Firebase Hosting. Firebase may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, page visited). We do not use cookies or analytics on this website.

Updates

When the app checks for updates, it makes a request to Firebase Storage to fetch version metadata. No personal data is sent in this request.
